REGOM launched a state-of-the-art industrial line at TC Environnement (TCE). Located on a 4-hectare site in Cercy-la-tour, France, the facility represents a significant leap forward in tire sorting, identification, and recycling.
REGOM’s Fully Integrated Industrial Line
What truly sets REGOM apart is the holistic approach taken in designing and implementing this industrial line. REGOM has engineered the entire process in-house. From the moment a tyre enters the facility to its eventual recycling or resale, every step is carefully managed and controlled by REGOM’s systems. This end-to-end expertise allows for a highly streamlined operation that is both efficient and sustainable.
What truly sets REGOM apart is the holistic approach taken in designing and implementing this industrial line. The entire process has been carefully engineered in-house, showcasing the technical expertise of Simon Gardon, Technical Director at REGOM, who led the design and implementation of the TCE line. From the moment a tire enters the facility to its eventual recycling or resale, every step is managed by REGOM’s systems.
Additionally, the line’s advanced software was entirely developed and deployed by Maxime Martin, REGOM’s IT Director, ensuring seamless operation and integration across all stages of the process.
On the commercial side, Bertrand Thoumsin, Sales Engineer at REGOM, has played a pivotal role in forging new partnerships and identifying opportunities to welcome visitors to the TCE site, showcasing the innovative line in action.

At the TCE facility, the tire recycling process is highly organized and efficient, with multiple stages designed to optimize the efficient recycling process of used tires. Here's a breakdown of how the site operates:
Container Stocking Area: The process begins with containers filled with used tires being brought to a dedicated stocking area at the site. These containers arrive from various suppliers or collection points. Once the containers are positioned, they await the next step in the process.
Transport and Weighing: Trucks transport the containers from the stocking area to the industrial line. Before entering the line, the tires are weighed to accurately track the volume being processed. This is crucial for maintaining records.
Tyre preparation and alignement: The process begins with tyre unloading and debulking in the blue hopper, where tyres gets separated, followed by alignment for identification.
Tire Identification and Sorting: Once inside the industrial line, the tires go through a sophisticated identification and sorting process. Here, REGOM’s advanced identification machine, driven by proprietary AI algorithms, reads each tyre’s unique characteristics. The system reads all the information on tyre's flank: brand, dimensions, DOT, speed and load indexes, as well as weighting the tyre and measuring the remaining tread wear. All of this at an industrial cadency of 1200 tyres per hour.
Automatic Evacuation to the Shredder: Tires that do not meet the criteria for resale or retreading are automatically evacuated via a conveyor system linked directly to the Precimeca shredder. These tires are shredded into smaller pieces, which can be used for other recycling processes.
Client-Specific Sorting: The connected software then grades the tyres based on specific criteria— either for resale, retreading, or recycling—based on the information collected and clients specific demands. Tires that pass the initial identification process are linked to the most appropriate recycling application. The tires are directed to different exits, or doors, where they are prepped for shipping to these clients.
Secondary Testing for High-Value Tires: Tires with the most potential value, particularly those that could be used for retreading or high-quality resale, undergo a second round of testing. This more rigorous procedure includes a pressure test to ensure that the tires meet the necessary safety and quality standards.
Storage of Good Tires: After the identification and testing process, the tires that pass are moved to a specific storage area. This space is designed to hold tires until they are ready to be sold, either for retreading or as used tires for resale.
